Examination Results

The students at Cheslyn Hay Sport and Community High School are overjoyed with the excellent results they have achieved in their GCSEs this year. Despite the changes in the GCSEs, to make them more challenging and demanding, students have maintained the excellent standards achieved at Cheslyn Hay.

Students and staff are thrilled with the results where 70% of students achieved the new grades 9-4 in maths and 68% in English. In addition 50% of students achieved the new good pass or above maths and 48% in English. The school achieved ten of the new top grade of 9s in English and maths, which are only awarded to the very top performers in the country.

There were many outstanding results, where students achieved the traditional A*s and As as well as the new top grades of 9s and 8s. Many students deserve a huge congratulations but a special mention goes to the following students:

Achieving two 9s are Ryan Silvester, Izabella Pearson and Grace Evans as well as excellent results in their other subjects Also Lauren Slater, Alex Scotson, Daniel Griffiths and Amy Burns who also achieved a 9 in English or maths alongside A* and As, across the subjects.

“We are so proud of the students this year, having shown great determination and resilience to achieve these grades. There are some outstanding performances from individuals with extremely high grades but we also have many students who have achieved way beyond their expectations and I am sure their families will be as delighted as we are. We trust that they will continue to go on to even greater success, with the majority going to universities around the country and hope they will continue to be the pride of our local community.”
